Intentions vs. goals

body and soul quote

You might be familiar with the practice of goal setting; intentions differ in that they are ongoing and not tied to a particular achievement or date. They are rooted in the present moment, unlike goals which are set in the future.
Setting goals can be a powerful motivator but it can also leave you feeling discouraged when these are not achieved. Intentions are about what you want the journey to be rather than about the destination.
One simple example to help understand the difference is “I will lose 5kg by January 1st” (goal) versus, “I intend to focus on my health” (intention).
You can find a whole section on intentions in our Body + Soul planner, as well as space for setting your routines, monthly focus, tracking your habits and a lot more!
